Kaudulla National park is an elephant corridor!
Located close to Habarana within the Cultural Triangle, this reserve is in fact a corridor for elephants migrating between Somawathiya Sanctuary and Minneriya National Park.
The best time to visit the park is during the migratory season that extends from August to December.
Please note that while you get to see a lot of wild elephants, spotting other mammals is rare. But if your priority to take time to admire elephant herds in silence, you will not be disappointed. Choose the right time however. The elephants here congregate before dusk and so do several lone males. A good challenge, especially for children, is to try and count the number of individuals in the herds.
